| Finding Your Lost Borrowers
Because all of Coast Professional, Inc.’s (Coast) business is the collection of college and university accounts, we understand the difficulty of locating and collecting from a population of borrowers in transition. Coast's track record is excellent in finding borrower's who have been "lost" for many years, and in the collection of student accounts and loans that might often be written off because of the statute of limitations.
Coast's philosophy is all people who are working, hold assets, or who interact with society in even the smallest way can be found. Accordingly, Coast believes that skip tracing is the most important part of the collection process.
Coast's experience has proven that representatives should be the ones performing this task. Skip tracing requires a special set of skills including creativity, imagination, self discipline, and advanced research methodology. These skills are used to work through every avenue available to find the piece of information that will allow the representative to locate the borrower and provide the information from which to collect the debt or recommend alternate means of account resolution.
In addition to providing information that helps to locate borrowers, Coast believes that the skip tracing process also helps a representative develop a mental profile of the borrower that will give them an edge when demanding payments.
Skip tracing activities performed by Coast serve not only to locate missing and lost borrowers but they also permit our clients to assign federal accounts back to the Department of Education in the event that collection is unsuccessful. At Coast, our efforts exceed the level of skip tracing mandated by federal regulation. |
